Children's Ministry

Children are very special people and Trinity UMC takes great care

to provide programs, events, and special occasions for all of God's children.

Sunday School

Sunday mornings  •  9:45 a.m. & 11 a.m.

  • We use a Cokesbury Curriculum entitled Live BIG! (Believing in God)

  • Each Sunday morning children gather for music, prayer, worship and learning at either 9:45 a.m. or 11 a.m. in Church School classes. During Church School children learn about the Bible, deepen friendships with other children, and develop a relationship with Jesus. All children are invited to Church School each and every Sunday.

  • Children may attend 9:45 a.m. worship with their parents and then come to 11 o'clock Church School.  Or they may attend 9:45 a.m. Church School and either the 8:30 a.m. Praise and Worship service or the 11 o'clock Traditional Worship service.

Children's Church (Room 209)

  • Is offered each Sunday morning during all three worship services. Children ages 3 through kindergarten enter the worship service with their parents. Then following the pastor's children's message, children are dismissed to Children's Church, where teachers provide a weekly Bible Story, a time of singing, and games.

  • Some parents choose to keep their child in worship with them--which is great. Other parents find that they are better able to attend to the message without their children.

T.N.T!! (Trinity iN Training)

Wednesday evenings  •  6:15 - 7:30 p.m.

  • For children from 3 years old through sixth grade Click here to learn more about our explosive fun on Wednesday nights.

PALS (Play and Learn Service)

  • . . . is our mother's morning out program. It meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for children from 6 months old through 6 years old. It is very different from other "programs." We consider this a ministry to adults who are caregivers to young children. Starr Moran is the Director of PALS. Click here to learn more about our PALS program.

Nursery & Child Care

  • We have three nurseries: the baby, walker, and 2 & 3 year-old nurseries. We always have at least two adults in each room. Nurseries are always provided for regular worship services, as well as many other activities. Any time a special nursery is needed for a planned church activity, the leader of the activity should contact Nursery Coordinator, Susan Johnston, make arrangements. For more info on the Trinity nursery program, click here.

Children's Council

  • A group of concerned parents, teachers, and leaders who meet on a quarterly basis to discuss children's issues. Our Children's Coordinator, Kristen Vardy, leads this meeting. This is an open meeting where we make decisions about curriculum, facilities, and activities.

What about Safety?

  • We have a Child-Adult Protection Policy (CAPP) that screens anyone who works with children at Trinity, volunteers and staff. Our policy includes training, safety procedures, and reporting and intervention procedures for any incident. (Someone must attend TUMC for at least 6 months to be accepted as a volunteer.) This policy is available for you to review on request via the Director of Children's Activities.
