SPECIAL EVENTS

MissionISPossible - Each month, our youth do mission work.  Usually on a Saturday or Sunday, we will move someone, play with children at Murphy-Harpst, do yard work for elderly church members, . . . or whatever need has presented itself.

Easter weekend – youth lead the Sonrise service & parents provide breakfast.

 

Vacation Bible School – in June – serve as crew leaders & helpers.

 

Jesus in the Park – in September, a community-wide celebration of faith & music,

at Ridge Ferry Park

Pumpkin Patch - October – our only major fundraiser for the youth. We sell pumpkins throughout October. Each youth gets their share in Patch “credits” which may be applied to any trip throughout the following year. Any youth who participates in youth any time in 2007 will be assigned a time slot to work the patch.

Trunk or Treat – a community- wide Halloween party

 

Christmas Caroling – the Sunday before Christmas

 

Live Nativity – The youth will have an evening when it will be their turn to stand in the annual church Nativity scene.

 

Elijah Project – Older members of the church agree to pray for members of the youth group. Youth are assigned to a secret “Elijah Partner” who prays for them daily for 8 months. Then, we have a meal together, and the prayer partners are revealed. The new partners will be assigned within the weeks after Promotion Sunday.
